Hello everyone,
I have a question regarding the usability of MuPDF viewer 1.26.8a. I cannot quickly switch between pages in any open PDF because the bottom line is not operable on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
I must mention that I am not at all familiar with programming or sending such programming steps.
Could it be that the problem I am describing here is a bug in MuPDF viewer for the Galaxy S24 Ultra?
The button on the bottom line for quickly switching pages back and forth cannot be moved because of a fixed navigation bar labeled “forward, back, and home.” This page change line at the bottom is too low in the MuPDF viewer and therefore appears below the fixed navigation bar on the Galaxy S24 Ultra.
Of course, I could set the navigation bar on the Galaxy so that it disappears and reappears, then the page change button can be operated, but I would like to have the navigation bar fixed, and then a quick page change is not possible.
Of course, I could switch between chapters in the side menu, but that’s not the issue.
Thank you very much for the help or answers, and if it’s a bug, I’ll just wait for some next update.

I don’t know if I’m wrong here in the forum with my request; I hope not, and I’m basically not familiar with sending possible app bugs either.
Best wishes from Northern Germany,
Lisamarie
Hi @Lisamarie Welcome to the forum! Yes, this “How to” section is the perfect place for this kind of request and you have explained the problem well.
I think this is a kind of “feature request” or maybe even a “bug” - in any case let me forward this issue to our MuPDF development team to find out more.
Thanks for posting, I’ll return once I find out more!
Dear Jamie_Lemon,
thank you very much for your reply. I’m glad I did everything right. And thank you in advance for your help.

@Lisamarie It seems like a few people might have had this issue with Samsung:
The developer’s will take a look to see if there is a work around , but it could be a Samsung UI thing that is causing the fault. Do any other apps have this problem or is it just the MuPDF app?
As far as I know at the moment, the problem only exists with the three button navigation bar and the MuPDF Viewer.
But there is a problem with a Samsung custom app where the navigation bar of this Samsung custom app hides actions that you can do with the Samsung custom app, but this custom navigation bar itself is above the navigation bar at the bottom, with the three buttons that include the home button, the back and forward button and the button for scrolling between all apps as shown in the photo above and is different to the described problem above.
Other than that, I don’t know of any other problems with hidden navigation or hidden buttons at the moment. Sorry, I don’t know what to call these things correctly.
In the MuPDP Viewer, this line with the button to quickly change pages is simply at the very bottom of the mobile phone for all PDFs that I open and is covered by the navigation bar. Of all the other apps that I open on my Galaxy s24 ultra, all the other apps’ own bars are above Samsung’s own navigation bar, which is fixed at the bottom.
Hello dear Jamie_Lemon,
unfortunately this problem has not been fixed after updates of MuPDF. In the Samsung community I found several posts with this problem of the fixed navigation bar with new Samsung smartphones and some fewer apps than I have with the page turner bar at the bottom of MuPDF. This appears obviously with Galaxy S 25 series and Galaxy S 24 series and my Galaxy S24 ultra.
I really think that the app developers would have to solve the problem to make appear the page turner bar of MuPDF above the fixed bottom navigation bar.
Because, after I changed the fixed navigation bar into stroking gestures, then only I can move and work with the bottom page turner bar of MuPDF. But this is no good solution for me, as I prefer the fixed navigation bar only.
Do you have any new information about this? I don’t think this to be a problem of Samsung. Could it be that the apps from different companies will probably have to be adapted to the new mobile phone formats?
Hi @Lisamarie I’ve just talked with the Android developers and this is something that we will be able to look into fixing hopefully early next year. I imagine February/March - but I can’t promise anything, it is on our radar though and I’ll keep you informed.
